Furious Buffalo Bills fans have ripped into the team over their schedule release video, with star quarterback Josh Allen at the center of the bizarre concept.
Every year NFL teams unveil their fixtures for the upcoming season in creative fashion, spending significant time and effort on putting together unique clips in the hope of going viral online.
While the Indianapolis Colts released a Simpsons-themed video, and the Los Angeles Chargers poked fun at New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel’s affair scandal, the Bills called on Allen to feature in their own four-minute movie.
Buffalo’s controversial effort initially shows their social-media team brainstorming ideas for schedule-release day, only for the 2024 MVP to interrupt from the back of the room with an unusual suggestion.
‘Did you write mine down?’ Allen interjects as the room goes silent.
He’s then asked by the head of the meeting: ‘I’m sorry, what was it again?’

The bizarre video shows Buffalo’s social-media team and Allen come up with a ‘giant chrysalis’ as the best concept for their schedule release
‘A giant chrysalis,’ the quarterback responds.
After the other attendees agree that Allen’s ‘giant chrysalis’ is one of the two best ideas of the brainstorm, the Bills’ strange video ends with a ‘barbershop quartet’ singing their full schedule in order while stood in front of something resembling the pupa stage of a butterfly.
And fans were far from impressed with both the concept and the execution.
‘This is the single worst piece of media an nfl team has even published,’ one user brutally concluded on X.
Another posted: ‘Got to be the worst thing I have ever seen. And I was at the Denver playoff game. Wow. Go Bills!’
A third put: ‘Annnnnd I’m never gonna get that 4 minutes of my life back.’
‘Never ever ever again let this happen. Ever. The brain storming was more fun than the idea,’ said a fourth.
A fifth wrote to the Bills: ‘This is f***ing atrocious. Have some shame’.
While one joked: ‘Fire everyone involved in this. Josh is Safe obviously…..’
The Chargers, meanwhile, have sparked controversy after making several not-so-subtle references to the Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal in their schedule release video.

Introducing the Patriots as the Chargers’ Week 12 opponent, fans are transported to a whacky futuristic race tack resembling a scene from the Halo video game.
As vehicles to start to race a message interrupts and appears on screen that reads ‘Attention. Nothing to see here. Press X to skip this checkpoint’, alluding to the scandal that has engulfed the team.
Once the race continues, the vehicles drive past a billboard that reads ‘next photo dump 1 mile’, referring to the constant stream of images of Vrabel and female sports reporter Russini that has emerged in recent weeks.
Then a ‘message’ from The New York Post arrives on screen after the publication was the first to publish pictures of Vrabel and Russini together at a lavish resort in Arizona.
Then the vehicles drive off the edge of the circuit, causing them to blow up and kill players named ‘Drake Maye’, ‘BigWillie66’ (Will Campbell) and ‘FreeTheFeet13’ (Mack Hollins).
The Chargers also reference Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ tumultuous relationship by killing off characters named ‘okurrr_cardi’ and ‘DaddyDiggs6’.
It comes after it was revealed earlier on Thursday that the NFL will not be taking action against teams who poke fun at the ongoing scandal.
