Several Florida State sports alums offered their condolences following the terrifying campus shooting that left two dead and six injured on Thursday.

The shooting, which occurred around midday, saw a gunman fire off 15 rounds, witness McKenzie Heeter told NBC News.

Among the six injured was suspect Phoenix Ikner, the stepson of a local sheriff’s deputy who has since been taken into police custody.

And after the tragic events, the likes of golfer Brooks Koepka, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse and Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac took to social media to offer their well-wishes.

‘My heart is broken reading the news,’ Koepka wrote with a broken-heart emoji. ‘Praying hard for my whole FSU family and Tallahassee. ‘

‘It’s hard to find the right words in moments like this… but my heart is with everyone in Tallahassee,’ Verse said. ‘I’m holding space for you in my thoughts and praying for comfort, strength, and safety for each of you.

‘Praying for my FSU family!!!,’ Isaac said.

Several other FSU alums expressed similar sentiments, including Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson.

‘Prayers out for everyone affected by the terrible events that took place in Tallahassee today,’ he began. ‘s*** is a dam shame to say the absolute least! I love yall.’

Hall of Fame safety LeRoy Butler also said: ‘Praying for the students at my Alma Mater @Seminoles it’s a shame , students have to go thru this.’

The Miami Heat also released a heartfelt statement on social media in solidarity with the Tallahassee, Florida based school.

‘We are devastated by the senseless gun violence that claimed innocent lives in our state,’ they said. ‘Many members of our Heat family are Florida State alumni as well as parents of current students, some of whom had chairs wedged under their dorm doors to barricade themselves inside.

‘These students should be preparing for finals, not wondering if they should be prepare to say final goodbyes. How many more of these events must take place before meaningful reform is enacted to end this epidemic?

Harrowing footage of the shooting later surfaced to social media, including one video showing a victim being carried to safety on the shoulders of paramedics.

Students also shared videos of themselves hiding beneath desks, while heavily armed law enforcement with long guns were seen on campus.

The FBI said on Thursday that it had joined the investigation.

In response to the horrific events, FSU announced that scheduled games for the baseball and softball teams this weekend had been canceled.
