Brooklyn Beckham’s controversial advert for DoorDash – in which he appeared to mock his high-profile feud with parents David and Victoria – reportedly earned him a cool $1m.

Brooklyn sent shockwaves throughout the celebrity gossip world in January when he confirmed long-standing rumours of an estrangement between him and his parents, by going scorched earth against them in an explosive Instagram post.

The 27-year-old made a number of allegations against David and Victoria, claiming they had been trying to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, for years.

Brooklyn also accused his mother of calling him “evil” during a dispute about the seating plan for his and Peltz’s 2022 wedding, and alleged that Victoria left him feeling “uncomfortable” and “humiliated” after hijacking his first dance with his bride.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

But despite his pledge to only want “peace, privacy and happiness” with his wife, and separate from his estranged family, eyebrows were raised this week when he alluded to the fallout in an ad for the US delivery company DoorDash.

In the ad, Brooklyn gives away tickets to a football match, with the Instagram chef and one-time elephant photographer telling the camera, “you’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s a long story.”

He then orders a DoorDash delivery driver to give the tickets away to the public. “These can go to someone… else,” he says. “Put them somewhere fun.”

According to a new report in Page Six, Brooklyn earned a million dollars for the advert. A source told the publication: “[The commercial is] a little cheesy. [But] anything that makes him money is good – it shows that his brand is there and flourishing.”

Brooklyn divided fans when he teased the campaign earlier this week, with some praising the star for his tongue-in-cheek approach while others argued he was cashing in on the family feud.

David and Victoria – who were spotted in the celeb-packed Los Angeles Stadium as the USA played their first World Cup 2026 match last week – have not publicly addressed the advert. David declined to speak about the estrangement from his eldest son as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week, though Victoria went slightly further when asked about the estrangement in April.

She told Fortune 100: “We love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And, you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”

The DoorDash advert is the latest in a run of slightly unusual attempts by Brooklyn to keep up a career in the spotlight. He currently sells a range of hot sauces, and regularly posts cooking videos to his social media. Though these have occasionally come under fire. Last year he was accused of using bacteria-ridden sea water to make pasta. “That’s disgusting,” commented one horrified viewer.
