Kansas City Current co-owners Brittany and Patrick Mahomes enjoyed Mother’s Day by taking their children to see a NWSL game against visiting Chicago Stars FC.
The Texas-born high school sweethearts were pictured with daughters Sterling Skye and Golden Raye, as well as son Patrick ‘Bronze’ at CPKC Stadium for what proved to be a fortuitous day on the banks of the Missouri River.
Temwa Chawinga, the two-time reigning NWSL MVP, scored three times in a 27-minute stretch of the first half as the undefeated Current took a 3-0 lead. Chawinga was subbed out in the 77th minute, by which point the game was well in hand.
It’s been a fun week for the Mahomes family, two of whom enjoyed dinner at the family’s steakhouse on Saturday.
Brittany, a former college soccer player herself shared pictures of the pair dressed up and looking smart for their big night at 1587 Prime, although she joked that her lacy red dress caused issues for her Super Bowl-winning husband.
‘Patrick really loved having to button all these buttons for me,’ she wrote on Instagram.

Days earlier, Patrick took Bronze to see the Kansas City Royals host the visiting Detroit Tigers at Kauffman Stadium. Patrick, a former high school baseball star, owns a reported 1 percent of the Royals.
It’s unclear how much of the Current he and Brittany control, but the team also lists Palmer Square Capital Management executives Angie and Christopher Long as co-owners.
Patrick is the son of New York Mets, Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers Rangers relief pitcher, Pat Mahomes, as well as the godson of retired reliever LaTroy Hawkins.
Sunday’s soccer game came after Brittany revealed this week that she has been struggling for over a year with a medical condition commonly known as ‘Mother’s Wrist’, caused by repetitive lifting and hormonal changes.
She explained that after struggling with wrist pain during a workout, she finally got assessed by a doctor.

‘To find out I have this… been battling it for probably around a year now thinking it will just get better,’ Brittany, 30, wrote on social media.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the issue also known as De Quervain tenosynovitis ‘is a painful condition that affects the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist.’
Patrick, meanwhile, is still working to recover from season-ending knee surgery, but he is believed to be progressing.
‘This is all pointing towards him playing in Week 1,’ Bleacher Report’s James Palmer wrote this week.
‘I think it really is, from everybody I’ve talked to. It’s not going to be rushed. There’s still a lot of time between now and then, but that’s where things seem right now.’
The Chiefs did sign former New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers starter Justin Fields as a backup this offseason.
