While her husband may be the most famous athlete in the family, Brittany Mahomes reached a sporting milestone of her own on Saturday.

Brittany, 30, racked up sporting achievements of her own during her college days, playing soccer for the University of Texas at Tyler before enjoying a professional stint with an Icelandic team.

On Saturday, the mother-of-three was inducted into Tyler’s Athletics Hall of Fame, as part of the school’s sixth class.

Brittany was inducted alongside the college’s 2016 Softball Team, which won the  NCAA Division III national championship, and former athletic director Howard Patterson.

She was supported by her husband, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, as she accepted her award onstage.

Her mother-in-law also appeared to be in attendance for the special occasion as Randi Mahomes shared a sweet photo of her and Brittany to Instagram.

Brittany Mahomes’s own sporting achievements were recognized over the weekend

So proud of our girl, @brittanylynne, for being inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame at @uttylerpatriots,’ Randi wrote.

‘Your hard work and heart never go unnoticed! Love you and cheering you on always.’

Brittany cut a chic figure in a black, double-breasted Gucci blazer featuring an all-over tonal GG jacquard monogram pattern. She paired it with matching tailored pants.

The college announced that Brittany would be inducted in January, saying that it would be commemorating what it described as ‘one of the strongest careers in UT Tyler women’s soccer history’ where she scored 31 goals in 74 games.

‘I’m honored to be inducted,’ Mahomes said. ‘My time at UT Tyler played a huge role in shaping my life, career, and the person I am today.’

She paid tribute to her coach, Stefani Webb, ahead of officially being inducted on March 28th in ceremony open to only close friends and family.

‘I’m especially grateful to Coach Webb – her belief in me, leadership, and constant support had an incredible impact on my journey both on and off the field,’ Mahomes added.

‘UT Tyler will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m so thankful for the experiences and the people who were part of making my time in Tyler one I will never forget.’

Meanwhile, her NFL beau hit a milestone of his own earlier this week when he took a major step in his recovery.

Mahomes tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee in mid-December as the Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention for the first time in his decorated career.

Although ACL/LCL surgery can entail a recovery period of nine to 12 months, Mahomes has vowed to return ‘stronger than ever’ with an eye towards participating in organized team activities (OTAs) this spring.

This week, he posted footage of himself practicing just a few months after his season-ending knee surgery.

‘Day by Day!’ Mahomes captioned the Instagram footage, which showed him dropping back and throwing with a sleeve covering his left leg. ‘Felt Great being able to throw the ball around today!’
