- The Lions face the Swans at the MCG at 2.30pm on Saturday
- Perry is due to perform some of her biggest hits at the decider
Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has had a go at the AFL for letting its priorities get out of whack after his team’s preparation for the grand final was cut short to cater to star musician Katy Perry.
The American songstress will be performing at the year’s biggest game and the AFL knocked back the Lions’ request to train on the MCG on Thursday because Perry had to rehearse at the ground.
Fagan expressed his disappointment with a light-hearted crack at the league on during a TV appearance on Wednesday night.
Richmond great Trent Cotchin asked the 63-year-old if he was ‘cheesed off that Katy Perry’s getting a practice run and you don’t get to train at the G’.
‘It’s good to see that the AFL’s got its priorities right,’ a smiling Fagan told Channel Seven’s Footy Classified show.
‘Don’t let the team on that’s going to play the game, just get the artist on.’
However, Fagan also downplayed the effect the setback will have on the team, noting that they’ve played on the MCG twice in the last five weeks, including last Saturday’s win over Geelong.
The Lions will also have their captain’s run on the famous ground on Friday.

AFL grand final acts are traditionally allowed to rehearse at the MCG on the Thursday before the biggest game of the year.
Perry has revealed she will perform her hit song Roar after it was rumoured she would drop it from her set over fears it could be seen as a sign of support for the Lions.
The 39-year-old also revealed the extent of her AFL knowledge in an appearance on Channel Ten’s The Project on Wednesday night.
‘It’s a great game…with a ball,’ she said to much applause and laughter in the studio.

Katy did recognise one apect of the game – the attire of the players – when panelist Sarah Harris asked if she had seen the uniforms.
‘Short shorts!’ she excitedly exclaimed.
While she said she was keen to learn more about the sport during her Down Under jaunt, Katy did, at least, know which teams were playing in the big game.
‘I love it. I know it’s the Lions and the Swans,’ she said.
Perry was then pressed on which team she would be throwing her support behind come the weekend.
‘I am going to stay Switzerland on that,’ she said. ‘But I am pretty confused. How did Melbourne not make it? They have 12 teams.’
