Title fight tenses up
A lot can change in a week, can’t it?
After the final whistle went at the Emirates last Saturday, Arsenal had pulled nine points clear of Manchester City and looked well on their way to the Premier League title.
Then, a day later, Dominik Szoboszlai struck one of the best free-kicks the Premier League has ever seen against City. When the ball hit the back of the net, I bet the Gunners started planning their trophy parade for May.
But we all know what happened at the end of that game…
Now, five days on, the gap between Arsenal and City is just three points.
All of a sudden, the trip to fellow Londoners Brentford tonight has become massive. Mikel Arteta’s side can ill-afford to drop points, otherwise City’s chase is well and truly on.
If they so much as drop a smidge of blood into the water, the big blue shark will hunt them down.
Strap yourselves in, guys, tonight is going to be tasty.
