Footy great Brendan Fevola had his interview with Hollywood star Will Ferrell shut down as he attempted to ask the actor an x-rated question.
Fevola and fellow podcast host Nick Box were given the chance to interview Ferrell and co-star Molly Shannon about their upcoming series The Hawk.
The series centres around Ferrell playing a washed-up golf legend named Lonnie Hawkins.
Introducing the interview on the Fifi, Fev & Nick show, Fifi Box joked, ‘I can’t wait to hear this interview,
‘I know for a fact that you asked a question that led to Will Ferrell ending the interview Fev.’
And for an interview that started out with pretty standard fare, asking about Ferrell’s golf game, some Aussie slang, it came to an abrupt end to avoid the chaos of Fevola’s final question.
Brendan Fevola was left gutted as his interview with Hollywood star Will Ferrell was brought to an abrupt end just as he was about to ask his ‘favourite question’
Ferrell saw the funny side as Fevola’s x-rated question was interrupted at the last second
The former Carlton and Brisbane AFL star was interviewing Molly Shannon Will Ferrell alongside podcast co-host Nick Box
After asking Ferrell and Shannon if they knew what the term smoko, snags and Maccas mean, Fev then attempted to ask his x-rated question.
‘Hey Will, Lonnie Hawkins calls his testicles Alana and Morrisette,’ Fevola started.
But before he could finish his question a member of the PR team stepped in to shut it down saying, ‘that’s all the time I’m going to have today gentlemen, thank you very much.’
That prompted the gutted response from the former Carlton and Brisbane Lions star as he remarked, ‘oh no, that was my favourite question, no!’
To which Ferrell laughed and added, ‘wow, well enjoy your Maccas.’
The pair then thanked their guests as the interview came to its abrupt close.
The interview opened up in fairly sensible fashion as Fevola and Box asked their superstar guest about his golfing ability.
‘I don’t mind hitting the driver, I am no good with a mid-iron, seven, eight nine I start to get good again,’ Ferrell said.
‘And yeah the three wood, five wood and five iron I usually take a huge divot and that doesn’t feel good.
They then asked Molly Shannon if she played any golf to which she responded, ‘Not at all.
‘As a matter of fact, I have absolutely no idea what Will is even talking about with a divot, no.’

They also discussed the sports that Will Ferrell has taken on across his acting career including basketball, soccer, ice skating and NASCAR.
But Ferrell remarked that he had yet to do anything with the ‘AFL’, to which Box and Fevola informed Ferrell he could play Fevola in a movie.
Box even went as far as to liken his co-host to Kenny Powers, a failed baseball player played by Danny McBride in Eastbound Down, which famously featured Ferrell sporadically throughout its seasons.
‘I used to play that, so you can play me,’ Fevola started, ‘I played for 13 years at the elite level.
Box then cut in, ‘And Will, I bring this up to every American that comes on the show.
‘This man is the real life Kenny Powers, he’s actual Kenny Powers. Had everything.’
And like Kenny Powers, Fevola was presented with his chance to have it all in this interview but he just took it one step too far.
