Phoenix Suns shooting guard Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the team and intends to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to multiple reports.

Beal’s agent told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the 32-year-old guard will ink a two-year, $11million deal with the Clippers.

Beal will have to clear waivers in order to sign with the Clippers.

The deal with the Clippers will include a player option, which will make him one of the top free agents available next summer if he chooses to exercise it.

Adding Beal will provide some serious scoring after LA traded Norman Powell to the Miami Heat in recent weeks.

He’ll now star alongside the likes of Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Brook Lopez, and John Collins.

Beal’s decision to sign in Phoenix was an attempt to build a superteam that ultimately came out to be a complete failure.

Despite being alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant – and being coached by NBA champion Mike Budenholzer – the Suns missed the playoffs entirely.

The year prior, the Suns made the playoffs but were swept in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Now, Budenholzer was fired in the middle of the season, Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets, and Beal has now moved on to LA.

Other teams reportedly interested in Beal included the Heat as well as the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

In his two seasons with the Suns, Beal averaged 17.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists across a combined 106 regular season games and four playoff games.

Beal now joins a Clippers team that made the playoffs but fell in seven games to the Denver Nuggets last season.
