Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has been rewarded with a contract extension after leading Philadelphia to Super Bowl glory.

The 43-year-old was hired in 2021 but, heading into last season, he was under pressure after a catastrophic end to the 2023 campaign.

Sirianni and the Eagles rediscovered their best last year, when they reached Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans and humiliated the Kansas City Chiefs.

‘As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success,’ Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement on Monday.

‘Nothing is more important to fostering an environment than having tremendous leadership. Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago.

‘His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team.

‘I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles.’

In his four seasons in charge, Sirianni has led the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice. Philadelphia has also reached the postseason every year of his tenure.

February’s 40-22 win over Kansas City saw Philadelphia land its second Vince Lombardi Trophy and exact revenge on the Chiefs.

Back in February 2023, the Eagles were beaten in the Super Bowl by Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Co.

A year on, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That loss followed five defeats in their final six regular season games.
