Noah Williams has claimed bronze in the men’s 10-metre platform diving with a score of 497.35.
It is the 24-year-old’s second medal of the Olympic Games after he picked up a silver with Tom Daley in the synchronised 10m event.
Having looked out of contention after the fist few dives, an impressive final score of 94.35 was enough to see Williams over the line and hand him his first individual Olympic medal.
China’s Cao Yuan won the gold medal while Rikuto Tamai of Japan took silver.
It means China have completed a clean sweep of golds in the diving but Team GB have been next-best behind them with four bronzes and a silver.
Alongside Williams’ successes, Team GB came third in the women’s synchronised 3m springboard, the men’s synchronised 3m springboard, and the women’s synchronised 10m platform.
Mexico’s Randal Valdez could have denied this fifth medal as Williams watched on nervously but he fluffed his lines to guarantee Team GB another success.
