Newcastle have confirmed that Eddie Howe has returned to work after being hospitalised with pneumonia.
Two weeks ago, news broke that Howe was set to miss the Magpies’ clash with Man United on Saturday evening, with Mail Sport reporting that the manager had been rushed to hospital after falling ill.
Howe subsequently missed the 4-1 thrashing Newcastle delivered to Man United at St James’ Park, which saw assistant manager Tindall oversee preparations.
He also missed out on Newcastle’s matches against Crystal Palace, which was a 5-0 win, and their trip to Aston Villa, which resulted in a 4-1 defeat.
Taking to X on Thursday morning, the club wrote: ‘Newcastle United are delighted to confirm that Eddie Howe has returned to his duties at the club’s Training Centre.
‘Eddie had recently been hospitalised with pneumonia and has now returned to work after a period of recovery.
