BREAKING NEWSMarcus Rashford expected to be INCLUDED in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad as reward for Aston Villa form

Marcus Rashford is expected to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad, which is set to be announced on Friday morning.

The 27-year-old has rediscovered his form on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United.

Rashford’s last cap came in March last year in a 15-minute cameo against Brazil at Wembley.

Rashford had been a mainstay for the Three Lions ever since making his debut in 2016 but missed out on the European Championship last summer – the first tournament he had missed since coming into the fold.

It was previously reported that Tuchel had contacted Rashford’s camp in November to let him know he was a huge admirer.

Despite criticisms over the last 18 months, Rashford has shown that he is still a quality player when he has his confidence.

On Wednesday night he set up Marcos Asensio for one of his goals as Villa surged past Club Bruges to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Unai Emery said in February: ‘I am very happy keeping him here to try to help him recover his performances. His challenge with us exciting and mine is huge. The club worked well in the window.

‘I am happy with him and will try to get the best of him. He will try to play and train as a normal player.’
