Luis Diaz has reportedly told Liverpool he wants to leave the club this summer, with the Colombian winger having been subject of an offer from Bayern Munich.
According to the Athletic, the German champions have submitted a £58.6m offer to sign Diaz.
The bid, which was made on Tuesday, was reportedly rejected immediately by Liverpool.
The Reds are said to value Diaz at £86m but have expressed to suitors that they have no plans to sell the 28-year-old this summer.
Liverpool’s valuation is reportedly said to be for accounting purposes.
Diaz, whose contract expires in 2027, has attracted a wealth of interest from top European clubs this summer.
Bayern Munich have held a strong interest in the winger, while Barcelona are another well established suitor.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37.5m.
To date, Diaz has played 148 times for Liverpool and scored 41 goals for the club.
Diaz made 50 appearances for Arne Slot’s side last season, with the Reds clinching the Premier League title.
The Colombian international made a significant contribution, starting 28 matches in the Premier League, scoring 13 times and providing seven assists.
Mail Sport reported earlier this month that Bayern’s initial interest in Diaz had been rebuffed after a phone call from sporting director Max Eberl.
Bayern have already missed out on two key targets this summer, as the German giants look to boost their attacking options.
Florian Wirtz opted to join Liverpool over Bayern, with the Reds signing the German international from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could reach £116m.
Athletic Club winger Nico Williams also opted to snub interest from Bayern and Barcelona to sign a new contract with the club.
