Goodison Park will become the permanent home of Everton women’s team next season.
Everton men’s team are set to say farewell to their famous old ground this weekend when they play their last ever match there before heading to shiny new Bramley-Moore Dock for the 2025-26 season.
But it’s not going to be goodbye for everyone – with the women’s team set to make the ground their permanent home in the WSL from the beginning of next season.
Everton women finished eighth in the women’s top-flight this season, and have called Walton Hall Park – with a capacity of 2,200 – their home since February 2020.
The decision to move to Goodison, where the capacity is 39,572, follows an in-depth review into the future of the stadium by The Friedkin Group (TFG), who completed their takeover of the club in December.
Everton women’s captain, Megan Finnigan, said: ‘This move is a testament to where the women’s game is right now and, more importantly, where it is heading.
