Greg Norman has had a very lucky escape after a horrifying incident flying on a private jet from Los Angeles to Palm Beach.
The Australian golfing great, 70, revealed on Instagram that the windscreen shattered in the air, forcing the plane to turn around and return to LA.
‘Inflight LAX -PBI loud pop = shattered windscreen,’ Norman wrote on Instagram. ‘Only the second time in 40yrs of private travel.
‘Returned to LAX to the professionals to make sure all ok. Thanks all.’
Norman shared a picture of a cracked window from the plane and a picture of the fire trucks that raced to the rescue after it had touched down back in California.
It is uncleaer who Norman was traveling with but the incident has occured just two days after his wife’s birthday.

Norman, a two-time Major champion, is been a controversial figure in recent years in the world of golf due to his role as CEO of LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed breakaway golf league.
He was replaced by Scott O’Neil in 2025 but still works on the organization’s board of directors.
Norman was extremely influential in making LIV the force it is today, recruiting serveal high-profile PGA Tour players to ditch the circuit and sign with LIV.
