The young girlfriend of former Penn State football star Julian Fleming has been killed in a horrific ATV crash, after their vehicle struck a deer on Friday night.

Alyssa Boyd, 23, died at the scene after suffering ‘extensive injuries’ in the accident on a rural road along the New York state line in Pennsylvania, according to cops.

Fleming, 24, was driving the Yamaha quad when a deer darted out onto the road in front of them, and the pair could do nothing to avoid colliding with the animal.

Tributes immediately began to pour in for Boyd, a 23-year-old graduate from the University of Alabama, on her social media.

Fleming, meanwhile, is still in hospital after suffering ‘serious’ injuries in the crash, and he was immediately rushed to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital.

According to state police, neither Boyd nor Fleming were wearing helmets when the crash occurred.

Fleming played football for Penn State Nittany Lions in 2024, after transferring from Ohio State following three years on the Buckeyes.

He declared for the NFL Draft but went unselected, before being signed by the Green Bay Packers as a free agent shortly after.

He then had his contract rescinded by the team three weeks ago, after failing his physical.

Fleming and Boyd had been pictured together on social media back in November, with friends delighted at them becoming ‘Instagram official’.
