Saquon Barkley has revealed he is engaged to long-term girlfriend Anna Congdon – just days before he plays in his first ever Super Bowl.
Barkley can cap a remarkable first season in Philadelphia with victory in New Orleans next Sunday, when the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
A week out from the biggest game of his career, the running back has spoken out about the impact of Congdon and confirmed that they are set to tie the knot.
The couple began dating in 2017 and share two young children. Barkley confirmed to People that they are engaged, too.
‘I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have had in my career without the help of her,’ the 27-year-old said.
‘She always has my back, not only in football but throughout life… as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.’

The 27-year-old running back met Congdon during his time at Penn State University
He added: ‘It’s a beautiful thing because we have two amazing children… and we just sit back and laugh sometimes when they’re over there playing and just smile and think about where everything started.’
The running back met Congdon during his time at Penn State University and they have now been dating for nearly a decade.
They welcomed their first child, Jada, in April 2018 before their son Saquon Jr – known as SJ – was born in September 2022.
Barkley, who turns 28 on Super Bowl Sunday, added: ‘The best birthday gift you can have is playing in the Super Bowl and the only thing better than that is winning the Super Bowl on your birthday.
‘So plans before or after…I really don’t have any idea or any game plan at all. I’m really just focusing on going out there and playing this game and trying to continue to play at a high level.’
