The Buffalo Bills suffered an agonizing defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game – which has cost Dave Portnoy a fortune.
Before the Bills faced the Chiefs at Arrowhead on Sunday night, Portnoy revealed he had placed a staggering $1million on Buffalo to win the Super Bowl this season.
The Barstool Sports founder wrote on X: ‘Here is a 3 team parlay for today. But I gotta be honest. My only focus is the Bills winning today cause I got a milly on them to win the Super Bowl.’
Unfortunately for Portnoy, however, Josh Allen was unable to inspire the Bills to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994 after slumping to a dramatic 32-29 loss in Kansas City.
At the start of the fourth quarter he was left seething when Buffalo was controversially deemed to have missed out on a crucial first down, accusing NFL referees of ‘cheating’ to help Kansas City.
Portnoy shared a photo of the moment in the game and said: ‘Insane. #nflrigged’.

However, while taking aim at the officials once again, in an angry video message the 47-year-old also hit out at Bills head coach Sean McDermott for running a tush push ‘without the push’ in the first place.
‘Guts ripped out, I feel for all of Buffalo,’ Portnoy said. ‘Let me tell you something: the refs should be in f***ing prison. Refs should be in prison, that fourth-down spot changed the whole game.
‘McDermott should be in prison, the Bills coach. That tush push that they run, that they kept running that doesn’t work… yeah the refs f***ed you, [but] do they not know what a tush push is? You put two f***ing huge guys in and you push! They don’t do that.
‘I thought Dalton Kincaid should’ve caught that pass, but whatever. You have the ball, down three, and you couldn’t have asked for more.
‘Yeah the refs f***ed you, yeah the tush push [was] absolutely the dumbest. I can’t get over doing a tush push without the push.’
