The Colorado Rockies have fired long-serving manager Bud Black in the wake of the team’s embarrassing 21-0 loss to the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.
Black has been in charge of the MLB strugglers for nine years, but a brutal 7-33 start to the season has forced the team’s hierarchy to make a change.
Saturday’s 21-run loss to the Padres was Black’s final nail in the coffin, and he leaves Denver with a career record of 544-690.
