Bill Belichick is officially back on the gridiron as his first practice as North Carolina’s head football coach has been completed.
The Tar Heels are going through their first spring football with Belichick at the helm going through the formal session on Tuesday morning.
The 72-year-old Belichick can be seen wearing a gray UNC sweatshirt and a Tar Heels beanie alongside a navy school jacket to watch his new players.
It has been nearly three months since the legendary former NFL head coach made the shock move to college football for the first time to take the helm in Chapel Hill.
In his time since his introductory press conference, Belichick has been recruiting and building his staff to prepare for spring football.
Although the Tar Heels have nearly six months until their first official game under Belichick against TCU. Yet, it is the preparations being made now that will count to how UNC plays that day.

Belichick officially announced his full coaching staff at North Carolina on Monday, with his two sons, Steve and Brian Belichick, as assistant coaches.
In his five-decade coaching career, Belichick had never been affiliated with a college program until his move to UNC.
Last January, Belichick left his post as New England Patriots’ head coach after 24 seasons and six Super Bowls at the helm.
Belichick was close to landing the Atlanta Falcons’ head coaching job last year before it went to Raheem Morris.
Before this year’s coaching carousel could get in full swing, he made his pledge to UNC.
Expectations will be high for Belichick’s first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference, as the Tar Heels have a favorable schedule in an easier Power Four league.
