A 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

A 15-year-old has been charged with robbery following an incident which took place shortly before a second boy was killed.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Manchester and Salford Youth Court in August.

Devon Simmonds-Caines died following a collision between a car and an e-bike in Rowrah Crescent, Middleton in Manchester on 22 July 2025.

Devon’s family paid tribute to him and said he “only wanted the best for everyone around him”.

Devon Simmonds-Caines, 15, died in Middleton earlier this month – with his family later describing him as a “bubbly person”.

“Devon was an outgoing, bubbly person who always kept himself motivated, even when he didn’t want to be.

“Devon loved everyone that loved him and showed respect to everyone that respected him,” their tribute said.

A 59-year-old man appeared at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday charged with murder, and will next appear in court on 29 September.
