A teenager and a man have been badly hurt in a stabbing in Manchester, police said.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to the incident on Stockport Road in Longsight at around 12:30 BST.
Two males, aged 17 and 18, were taken to hospital with serious injuries and the force is now appealing for information.
Det Insp Geoff Machent said: “We know that news of an incident of this nature will be concerning, especially owing to the ages of those involved.”
“Extensive work is ongoing to identify and locate suspects, and we are working with a range of specialist partners to ensure the victims are safeguarded,” he added.
Det Insp Machent said additional patrols were taking place and he urged anyone with information or with any concerns to speak to police.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Road closures were put in place along Stockport Road, including the junction of Kirkmanshulme Lane and the junction of Birch Lane.
GMP warned that delays were expected and thanked the public for their patience while the scene was in place.
