The mother of a teenager who was killed in a motorbike crash has paid tribute to her son, saying he was “so loved by everyone”.

Kailem Robinson, 16, was travelling on the motorbike with Kaine Darby, 17, when they collided with a car on Lower Broughton Road, Salford, on 22 May and died later in hospital.

Kailem’s mother Jill Robinson said her son was “always polite” and was “popular with everyone and would do anything to help people out”.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the driver of the car stayed at the scene and no arrests had been made.

Ms Robinson said: “Kailem will be missed by everyone, the reaction from the community has shown how loved he was by everyone who knew him.”

“He had a cheeky smile and infectious laugh and was known as the class clown in school, always making everyone laugh,” she said.

“He always had a passion for his bikes from a young age and would help other kids on the street fixing theirs.”

Ms Robinson said the boys’ deaths had “shocked the community” and thanked people for their support, adding: “Kailem’s friends have been amazing, bringing shopping round and just being here trying to comfort me and give me some normality”.

She said her life would “never be the same again”.

Kaine’s mother Danielle Hughes previously paid tribute to her “loving, caring, funny and genuine” son.

The crash happened at about 20:20 BST. The pair were taken to hospital but later died from their injuries.

The force said both families were being supported by specialist officers.

GMP appealed for anyone with information or dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them.
