Floyd Mayweather has made the incredible claim that Donald Trump is the ‘best president’ in the history of the United States.
Mayweather’s entry into the political ring once again comes as he gets further away from his legendary boxing career and is consistent with his past remarks and actions.
The undefeated fighter attended Trump’s first inauguration as president and supported him throughout 2017 before having a more low-key profile on his political views.
Now, Mayweather spoke up during an appearance on Fox Business.
‘We had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him,’ Mayweather said. ‘I think Trump is a great president, actually he’s the best president in my eyes, he’s the best president we’ve ever had. Great business man and that’s what it’s about.’
‘Trump has done an amazing job and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes into the White House, we’re always upset. And I think Trump is the man for the job, he’s the best president in my eyes.’

Trump is back in the White House for a second time, having been inaugurated again in January
Mayweather’s remarks drew plenty of attention on social media, with fans of Trump happy to see they still have the boxer as a fellow supporter.
‘Great recognizes Great… let’s be honest, it’s only 1 month in and he’s flipped the entire story upside down,’ one person said on X. ‘He’s gotta try to F this one up to not be considered one of the greatest comeback story of all time.’
‘Mayweather is a legend and he called out the truth,’ another Trump supporter said.
Not many pushed back on X about Mayweather giving Trump props, with the biggest criticism appearing to be that the president’s second term is only a little over a month done and it is too early to judge him.
Policy-wise, Mayweather and Trump have been aligned on a few issues, including in the Middle East.
Mayweather is a staunch supporter of Israel and donated $1million to the United Hatzalah of Israel last year.
The boxer traveled to Israel last year and talked about his experience on social media.
‘Here’s nothing like returning to such warmth and hospitality!’ Mayweather said. ‘A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Ben Gurion Airport for the welcome back…It feels like home away from home! Actions speak louder than words, and I’m here to support in every way I can. Here’s to another great journey together.’
