Bournemouth have completed the £25m signing of Liverpool winger Ben Doak.

Liverpool have inserted a buy back clause in the deal.

Bournemouth’s new signing will now be referred to as Ben Gannon Doak to reflect the names of both his parents and will wear the number 11 shirt.

‘I’m buzzing to be here. I feel like it’s the right time for me and it’s a great opportunity to play regular football at the highest level. It feels like the perfect fit,’ Doak said.

‘The team play very nice football. It’s fast and it really suits my game, so I felt like I couldn’t say no to the chance to play here.’

The deal represents a significant profit for Liverpool, who signed Doak for £600,000 from Celtic back in 2022.

Doak made a total of 10 first team appearances for Liverpool during his time with the Premier League champions.

The 19-year-old, who has signed a five-year deal at Bournemouth, spent last season on loan at Middlesborough.

Doak made 24 appearances in the Championship, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.

The Scotland international was named the EFL’s Young Player of the Month award in November.

Tiago Pinto, Bournemouth’s head of football operations, said that Doak fits the club’s model.

‘Ben is an exciting young talent who has shown his quality at the highest level despite his age,’ Pinto said.

‘He brings pace and energy that will fit our model well and we’re thoroughly looking forward to helping him fulfil his potential at AFC Bournemouth.

‘We’re pleased to bring another player into the club during this window as we continue to reinvest in the squad.”
