Borough of Torbay (Various Streets, Paignton) (Control of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Amendment Order No2 2024

Decision:

To implement the
parking restrictions contained within the above Order.

Reasons for the decision:

The proposals in this
Order are to assist with road safety and traffic flow at several
junction points across Torquay.

 

The proposals were
advertised in a Public Notice in the Herald Express on 4th
September 2024, a consultation period of 21 days was provided for
members of the public to submit any objections to the proposals,
notices were also placed out on site.

 

One objection was
received in response to proposals for Roundham Avenue, and a number
of
objections were received regarding the proposals for
Marldon Road, which were reviewed by
the Cabinet Member for Pride in Place, Transport and Parking at the
Transportation Issues Cabinet Member Briefing Meeting on 12th
December 2024.  In both instances, it
was agreed that the advertised restrictions were the minimum
requirement for a safe and compliant highway and should be
implemented as advertised.

 

No objections were
received regarding any of the other proposals.

Alternative options considered:

The alternative was
not to proceed with the changes to the parking restrictions.

Implementation:

Highways will instruct
implementation of the required markings and signage.

Proposals to add
“no waiting at any time” restrictions at junction
points on the following roads in Paignton:

 

·        
Barnfield Road, Barton Avenue, Blatchcombe Road, Cliff Road, Eden Grove, Hillside
Road, Hodson Close, Kings Road, Lammas Lane, Maidenway Road, Marldon
Road, Roundham Avenue, Roundham Crescent, Roundham Gardens, Smallcombe Road, Stanley Gardens, Titchfield
Gardens, Torquay Road.

 

The proposals are
detailed within the “Borough of Torbay (Various Streets,
Paignton) (Control of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Amendment
Order No2 2024”.
