The body of a woman has been recovered from a river in north Wales.
North Wales Police said they were called at around 08:10 BST on Saturday after the body was reported in the the River Dee in Llangollen, Denbighshire.
Emergency services, including the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s water rescue team, attended the scene.
Insp Andy Kirkham of North Wales Police said work was underway to identify the woman.
He added that the cause of death was unknown but was not thought to be suspicious.
“We appreciate this incident caused some disruption to residents and visitors due to the town’s food festival taking place today, and we’d like to thank everyone – including local businesses for their patience whilst we dealt with this tragic incident.
“Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this distressing time,” he said.
