Rescue teams searching for a teenage boy who entered a lake in Leicestershire have recovered his body.

Police were called to Meynell Lake, off Fosse Way in Syston, to reports a teenage boy had entered the lake at 13:30 BST on Thursday.

On Friday, police divers recovered a body and confirmed it was the teenager who entered the lake, which is used for boating and angling.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said the boy’s family were being supported by officers, and added: “There is no suggestion of any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner. Naming will be a matter for the coroner.”
