An unconscious 21-year-old boater had a near-miss encounter with two ferries after he passed out “drunk” behind the wheel in Steilacoom, Washington.

Footage shared by Pierce County Sheriff’s Office shows the small vessel heading towards the ferries before veering off and crashing into a rock embankment. “Is that dude okay?,” one witness can be overheard saying.

The driver was ejected from his seat before landing in the water and then proceeding to climb up onto the rocks.

West Pierce Fire and Rescue officials pulled a 21-year-old from the scene. Alcohol bottles could be seen littered throughout the vessel, and the individual smelled of intoxicants, the force said.

He was taken into custody for a DUI and the boat was removed and impounded.
