Over 12 years ago, we launched this blog as a place where you can find out all the latest news and updates from The National Archives. In that time over 2,000 posts have been published by hundreds of our experts and collaborators.

But at over a decade old, the blog is starting to look a bit tired. It is not the easiest thing to find on our website, and its design and limited features aren’t allowing us to tell our stories in the best way possible.

So with that, this will be the last post on this blog. Today we are launching our new Blogs at the National Archives, which you can find at www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/blogs.

The new Blogs at the National Archives landing page.

You can read more about the features we have developed for our new blogs and about the kind of stories and updates you can expect from us in the welcome post in our new Digital blog.

What’s next?

We know that our old blog posts are a valuable resource for our readers, and we want to make sure they are all still available to you. We have made sure that all posts can still be found in the UK Government Web Archive.

We’re confident that our new blogs are a big improvement, and we’re excited to launch them today. But we’re sure that there will be even more improvements we can make. We will be monitoring usage numbers and feedback we get, as we continue to research what our users need from the blogs. We will continue to improve on the design and features over time.

We want to thank our dedicated blog readers for their years of support for The National Archives blog, and we are excited to share this new chapter with you.
