Black Friday 2024 – live: Currys is offering £50 off the Dyson supersonic – UK Times

Welcome back to The Independent’s live coverage of the 2024 Black Friday sales. Myself and the team have been reporting on the event for years, so we know how to spot a deal from a dud.

Tired of tossing and turning on an uncomfortable mattress? With a Black Friday discount, you could save hundreds of pounds on an upgrade, and from leading brands such as Dormeo, Simba and Silentnight – whether that be a memory foam, hybrid or pocket sprung mattress.

Landing a spot in our review of the best mattresses, Nectar’s premier hybrid mattress was hailed as the best medium/firm option. Thanks to eight layers of foam, micro-springs, memory foam and a supportive base, our reviewer noted how it made their pressure points feel supported and their spine aligned. And the best part? There’s a whopping £464 saving to be snapped up.

Yes, according to the Debenhams site. Its Black Friday sale will take place on 29 November, but, like myriad other retailers, it’ll be dropping early offers prior to the big day.

There are no Black Friday-specific deals to be seen just yet, but there are, however, mega savings (as much as 75 per cent off) to be snapped up across homeware, clothing and more at the minute.

Right now, you can save 25 per cent on a bottle of Ariana Grande’s cloud eau de parfum. Described as a fruity and uplifting scent, it’s characterised by a blend of lavender blossom, pear, bergamot, crème de coconut, praline and vanilla orchid. And, it’s available with a discount in varied sizes; 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles.

That’s right. Boots’ Black Friday sale has begun, bringing with it haircare, make-up, skincare, gift set savings. Case in point, here’s an Estée Lauder 6-piece skincare bundle (now £49, Boots.com), now reduced to half price, while there’s cash to be saved on the Boots 24 days of beauty Christmas advent calendar with discount code ‘SAVE20’.

Gamers, listen up. Black Friday could be your chance to save on the Nintendo Switch, gaming laptops, the Xbox series X and PlayStation 5 consoles. Beyond deals direct from official Xbox and PlayStation storefronts, The Independent’s tech writer Steve Hogarty also recommends keeping an eye on retailers like Argos, Very and Currys. This is one of the best gaming deals he’s spotted so far, and you can find all his top picks in his article below.

This is an out-of-this-world deal on the virtual reality headset, Meta Quest 3. With the launch of the cheaper Meta Quest 3S for £290, Meta has repriced the existing Meta Quest 3 to make its original (and still best) VR headset more enticing. The 512GB model is the most storage you can get and has come down from £619.99 to £469. It features more sophisticated lenses than those found in the budget Meta Quest 3S, so visuals look a little sharper, and it’s slimmer too.

The Charlotte Tilbury Black Friday sale isn’t here just yet. But, if you’re wondering what sort of deals we can expect when it does eventually roll around, last year, we were treated to 30 per cent off everything – could it be a similar story this year? We hope so. If it’s time to invest in a new telly, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to save on top 4K and OLED sets. We’re already seeing eye-popping offers on TVs from Amazon, LG, and Samsung, ahead of the main event. Case in point, here’s a £300 saving on one from LG.

The latest model in the C series of LG TVs has an impressive 4K display with self-lit OLED pixels capable of perfectly dark blacks, bright highlights and rich colour reproduction.

LookFantastic is a one-stop-shop for beauty brands to know, and, happily, its Black Friday sale has begun. Our beauty writer, Lucy Smith, has rounded up some excellent early deals, including a half-price bundles from Benefit (now £27.50, Lookfantastic.com) and The Ordinary (now £14.70, Lookfantastic.com).

In her review of The Inkey List tripeptide plumping lip balm, Lucy said it left her  “lips quenched like nothing else”. It uses a combination of hyaluronic acid and unique “ultra filling spheres” to leave your pout looking smoother and bouncier. Owing to this deal at LookFantastic, you can take home the balm with 30 per cent off.

While Pandora hasn’t actually confirmed when it will hold its Black Friday sale, we can certainly hazard a guess. Its sale typically begins on the Thursday before the official event. But, Pandora members could get a head start – in 2023, subscribers had access to Pandora’s Black Friday deals from Monday 20 November.
