Bizarre moment Arizona Diamondbacks manager tries to eject the UMPIRE after being ejected himself

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo had an all-time memorable ejection on Wednesday, attempting to eject all four umpires after being tossed from the game himself.

In the bottom of the eighth inning against the Giants, San Francisco’s Christian Koss attempted to advance from second to third base on a busted infield play when he ran into Arizona’s Jordan Lawlar.

Koss, who was momentarily injured during the play, was tagged out by the Diamondbacks, ending the inning at first.

After an appeal from Giants manager Bob Melvin, the umpires convened and awarded second base, with no out, to Koss, enraging Lovullo.

The umpires’ reasoning was obstruction, as Lawlar was standing in the base path without trying to actively make a play on Koss.

The Diamondbacks’ skipper heard none of it and was promptly ejected from the game. That only made Lovullo more upset, evident by his attempt to then eject all four umpires himself.

The umpiring quartet of Nick Mahrley, Mark Ripperger, Edwin Jimenez, and Nic Lentz did stay on the field.

Lentz dished back at Lovullo and yelled in his face in a rare moment of fury from an MLB official.

Lovullo’s ejection and the inning continuing for the Giants ultimately did not change the outcome of the game as San Francisco did not score in the eighth inning.

The Giants only scored one run in the ninth inning, losing to the Diamondbacks 8-7 at home.

Lovullo should get a call from the league office about his antics, with it leading to a fine and not a suspension if there is any supplemental discipline.

This was Lovullo’s second ejection of the season after another fiery encounter with umpires last month after arguing balls and strikes during a game against the Orioles.
