  • Has fallen in love with glamourous business woman
  • Is enjoying a taste of the high life on the red carpet
  • Triple M colleague didn’t miss him afterwards

Former Geelong champion and AFL personality Billy Brownless has been spotted walking the streets of Melbourne in drastically dressed down clothing just days after a colleague accused him of being ‘too posh’.

Brownless has found love with Crystle Fleur, a Geelong-based businesswoman and mother of three.

The couple began dating in mid-2024 and made their relationship public at the Geelong Cats’ Best and Fairest event in October.

Crystle, who owns Erinvale Thoroughbreds, shares Billy’s passion for footy and racing, and the pair have been seen together at various events, including the AFL Grand Final’s September Club and the Australian Open.

They were also spotted at the red carpet opening night of Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular in Melbourne on Thursday, beaming for the waiting camera as they entered the musical.

News Corp has reported that Billy asked camera operators to call him ‘William’

‘It’s a bit of culture which will be good for me and I’m going in with eyes open,’ Brownless said.

‘I don’t know how to say it [Les Miserables], I don’t know how to spell it, but I’m excited.’

His Triple M colleague and co-host James Brayshaw did not miss Brownless swapping the schooners for champagne and rubbing shoulders with celebrities in tuxedos, calling him a ‘complete knob’.

‘What’s happened to you,’ Brayshaw said. ‘You used to be meat and two veg, straight up and down, a normal fat bogan. What have you become.’

Followers on social media were quick to have a crack at Brownless enjoying time at the top end of town.

‘Have a look at Anthony Warlow Brownless,’ one posted.

‘Billy the big question is can you pronounce the name of the musical,’ added another.

‘Of course he can pronounce it… just not correctly,’ replied another with a laughing emoji.

Brownless, 58, was unapologetic for enjoying some of the fine life with his glamourous new partner.

‘I like to open up my horizons to have a look around, see what else is there,’ he said.

‘Nothing wrong with going to a musical by the way.’

But maybe Brayshaw’s words were left ringing in his years.

Because it was a totally different Brownless on Saturday, enjoying a stroll in trackie pants and a Triple M puffer vest.

He was wearing a white cap and worn sneakers as he chatted to an unknown party on the phone.

Brownless played for the Geelong Football Club in the AFL from 1986 to 1997.

Over his 12-season career, he played 198 games and kicked 441 goals, earning All-Australian honours in 1991 and leading Geelong’s goal-kicking in 1991 and 1992.

Following his retirement, Brownless transitioned into media, becoming a popular television and radio personality, notably appearing on The Footy Show and co-hosting Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Brayshaw.
