“Big Brother” alum Mickey Lee revealed she was born with a hole in her heart two months before her tragic death on Thursday, according to Julie Chen Moonves.
“Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on ‘God 101,’” the host of the “Big Brother” series wrote via Instagram Friday, as she reacted to the news of Lee’s passing.
“That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart, and as an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive.”
Chen Moonves, 55, continued, “Last night God brought her home 🕊️ Rest In Peace dear Mickey. I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing. Amen 🙏🏼.”
Lee died Thursday evening after suffering multiple cardiac arrests. She was 35 years old.
Her family confirmed her passing in a statement Friday, remembering the reality TV star’s “authenticity” and “strength.”
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” Friday’s statement read.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on ‘Big Brother,’ where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”
“She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed on and offscreen,” the message continued.
The family closed, sending “deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love and support,” and asked for “privacy during this critical time of bereavement” as they mourn their “tremendous loss.”
Lee’s death comes after she was hospitalized for a brief stint. A GoFundMe page revealed that the late CBS personality was in “critical but stable condition” after “suffer[ing] a series of cardiac arrests.”
Lee was a notable star on “Big Brother” Season 27, which ran from July to September. She was voted out by her co-stars during her eighth week on the show.
