Bernard Tomic and his partner Keely Hannah have announced the birth of their daughter Astara Aurelia after keeping their pregnancy a carefully guarded secret.
Hannah revealed the heartwarming news on Instagram on Sunday night, writing: ‘The most beautiful secret we’ve ever kept. Astara Aurelia Tomic 05.04.2026’ along with a white heart emoji.
Astara is a Greek name meaning ‘star’, while Aurelia is of Latin origin and translates to ‘golden’ or ‘the golden one’.
Tomic doesn’t have much of a presence on social media, but a quick look at Hannah’s Instagram reveals she stopped posting 37 weeks ago – around about the time the couple would have got the news that she was expecting.
Hannah also revealed a surprising link to Jesinta Franklin when she shared the post about Astara.
She tagged in Dr Adriana Olog, a Gold Coast-based obstetrician and maternal medicine specialist who also helped deliver Franklin’s baby son Bam last December.

Tomic – who is currently ranked 189th in the world – began his romance with Hannah in 2022 after splitting from Aussie influencer Vanessa Sierra.
The baby news comes after a rollercoaster few years for the 33-year-old.
He was slammed for retiring mid-match at an ATP Challenger event in June 2024, walking off the court while struggling against Japan’s Yuta Shimizu at the Little Rock Open in Arkansas – and getting into an argument with Hannah as she sat courtside.
Tomic had lost the first set 6-1 and told Hannah he had tested positive for Covid earlier in the day.
According to commentators covering the event, Hannah told him he was mistaken and he tested positive two weeks beforehand.
In July last year, questions were raised about how he lived a jet-set lifestyle despite only earning a little more than $64,000 in prizemoney over the previous 12 months.
However, he impressed tennis fans with his tenacity as he proved he is prepared to grind away while competing in seemingly endless ATP Challenger circuit and lower-tier tournaments in an attempt to return to the big time.
‘Tennis has become part of my life ever since I was seven. Obviously I had a dad that pushed me extremely hard and that’s one of the reasons I got there, in a sense,’ he said.

‘But when you look at this whole picture, now that I’m 32, it’s a purpose. It still gives me something to do. Without tennis, I don’t know what I would do.
‘It (tennis) is the only thing I’m good at. I’ve been good at it for almost three decades, so it gets me going. I can still play decent.
‘I’m not in my prime like I was… but that’s why I’m challenging myself to get back there one more time. And then (I can) retire happy (and) guilt-free.’
In January this year Tomic looked to be on course to break into the Australian Open when he claimed a dominant straight-sets upset victory against Bolivian star Hugo Dellien in the first round of qualifying.
Fans chanted his name during that match as he showed why he’d climbed to No.184 in the world after sinking as low as 835th in 2022.
However, he fell to Britain’s Arthur Fery in straight sets in the second round of qualifying.
Tomic last played in qualifying for the ATP 500 event in Acapulco, Mexico in February, where he lost to Nicolas Mejia 6-3, 6-0.
