Enter our competition to Be an Ambassador for a Day

The British Embassy in Pristina invites Kosovan girls aged 14 to 18 to take part in this year’s Ambassador for a Day competition.

This initiative gives young women the chance to explore how diplomacy works, meet inspiring leaders, and gain confidence in their own potential.

Why you should apply

Women and girls make up half of the world’s population and half of its extraordinary potential. Across the globe, their voices, talents, and leadership continue to shape communities and spark change. Yet in international diplomacy, and in many political and business spheres, women, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, remain far too few. This gap is not just a matter of fairness; it represents missed opportunities for stronger, more inclusive decision making.

Changing this reality begins with ensuring that every girl has the chance to dream boldly, to lead confidently, and to contribute fully.

That is why we are inviting young girls to step forward, speak up, and take their place in conversations that affect us all. And it is why we are proud to launch the Be an Ambassador for a Day competition.

Through this initiative, we aim to ignite ambition and inspire the next generation of leaders. Participants will have the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at the British Embassy in Pristina and engage in a one to one conversation with a Head of Mission from one of the other participating diplomatic Missions in Kosovo.

We want every girl to see that leadership is not distant – it is within reach. Their ideas matter. Their perspectives matter. Their voices belong at the table.
