What’s been particularly apparent from this half is how much better Real’s team selection has been this leg. They were passive and dominated last week, with Carreras bullied by Olise, but Militao and Mendy have been significantly stronger in defence, Olise has been kept quiet, and Bellingham has brought his usual physicality.

One change at half-time: Davies comes on for Stanisic, who was clattered in the build-up to Mbappe’s goal.

Neither side has been defensively brilliant, with Bayern opting for their usual very high line and Real fielding a very attacking side. With inevitable consequences.

‘41: Alexander-Arnold, on the right flank, tries to find Mbappe, but sends a fizzing cross behind him.

Militao gets a yellow for hauling down Kane. He has the nerve to look miffed at that.

That was Kane’s 50th goal of the season. Made it look easy.
