About last night…

No, Arsenal fans, it wasn’t a dream.

You really will be watching your beloved Gunners take to the Puskas Arena to contest the Champions League final next month. No, I’m being serious, honest.

After 20 years of agony in Europe, the Gunners will once more bless the final of European football’s most prestigious club competition, after dispatching of Atletico Madrid in one of the most magical nights the Emirates has ever witnessed.

The road hasn’t been easy; it’s had plenty of bumps and potholes, but it has led Mikel Arteta’s side all the way to Budapest, where they are just one game away from lifting the Champions League trophy for the very first time.

Was it a classic semi-final victory? Far from it. But that doesn’t matter one bit. Bukayo Saka found the back of the net, while Gabriel and William Saliba were solid as a rock at the back. That is all that matters.

It feels like Arsenal could well finish this magical season with both the Premier League and Champions League trophies in their cabinet. If they do, it will be the best season in the club’s history.

But that’s still an ‘if’… they aren’t there yet.
