US law enforcement officials are on the hunt for an Australian jiu-jitsu fighter over an alleged sexual assault.

Hays County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of $1,000 for information regarding the whereabouts of Izaak Michell.

Michell is understood to hail from Adelaide and, according to Hays County Crime Stoppers, had been residing in Austin.

The wanted poster also urges anyone who sees him to ‘use caution’, with the poster adding: ‘subject is a martial arts expert’.

‘Our agency is actively investigating Izaak Michell, and the investigation has resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant against Michell for the offence of sexual assault, a second-degree felony,’ Hays County Deputy Mark Andrews said to 7News.

‘The investigation is still active, and additional charges may follow.

‘Our agency has requested that Michell be added to the Hays County Crime Stopper’s Most Wanted list, which allows for the issuance of rewards for tips leading to Michell’s arrest.’

Michell is believed to be 27 years old, stands at 5ft 11in and weighs approximately between 185lbs to 195lbs.

He has a tattoo on his upper left arm and another on his left elbow and forearm.

‘Hays County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading directly to the arrest or indictment of Izaak Joshua Michell,’ the Crime Stoppers advertisement says.

Michell is understood to have had a decorated career in martial arts.

The Australian is understood to have won several big tournaments, including the 2022 ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials and the 2022 Who’s Next Tournament.

He had also beaten Sebastian Attard to become the inaugural Subversion jiu-jitsu Invitational light heavyweight champion in March 2025.

In the wake of the allegations, Subversion has announced that Michell has been stripped of his championship belt.

A spokesperson for Subversion wrote on Facebook: ‘With the serious allegations that have been made against Izaak Michell, we are vacating the Light Heavyweight Championship effective immediately.

‘As this is an evolving situation, Subversion will be making no further comment at this time.

Michell had also previously been competing with Kingsway jiu-jitsu gym in Austin, Texas, but has since been removed from their roster of fighters.

Gordon Ryan, a co-founder of the Kingsway stable, said on Instagram: ‘Izaak Michell is no longer training or affiliated in any way with our gym.

‘We have been advised that no further details should be made public at this time.’

The Daily Mail has contacted the Australian jiu-jitsu Federation for comment.

Crime Stoppers are asking anyone who has information about Michell’s whereabouts to contact Hays County Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1-800-324-TIPS (8477) or submit their tip online at http://callcrimestoppers.com/ or by using the P3 Tips app.
