The age gap between Peter Siddle and his partner Hannah Burgess has been turned into a punchline on a popular sport podcast.
A former Test cricket star with 231 first-class wickets to his name, Siddle recently posted a photo of him with Burgess to celebrate playing his 100th match in the Big Bash League.
Off-Field Drama podcast hosts Stirling Farquhar and Samuel Burke used the post as a launch pad for a series of jokes at the couple’s expense in an episode that was published on Tuesday.
They incorrectly claimed that while Siddle is 40 years old, Burgess is only 20.
‘Peter Siddle, they’re calling him Nathan Cleary … yeah, 40/20,’ Farquhar said, referring to the long 40/20 kicks NRL star Cleary is famous for perfecting.
‘He just notched up his 100th game and took to Instagram, had a socials post with his girlfriend.

‘So he’s 40 and his missus is 20.
‘And you were saying that he’s not allowed to have sleepovers?’
Burke replied, ‘Well, allegedly … I think it’d be hard for the dad to be greeting her [sic] f***ing daughter’s boyfriend … and could be bowling a bit of chin music at the Christmas lunch.’
Farquhar then said, ‘You’ve gotta think, when he [Siddle] bowled his hat-trick ball in 2010, his missus was getting picked up from preschool.’
Siddle is actually 41 years old.
It isn’t clear how old Burgess is, but she left a comment on the post showing her with Siddle at his 100th match that read: ‘Guess which one of us played their 100th big bash game and which one turned 20 something!’
Daily Mail has contacted Siddle and Burgess for comment.
The cricketer first appeared on Burgess’s Instagram page on November 25, 2024, as she posted a photo of him embracing her along with the caption ‘Happy birthday to the best.’

Siddle also posted the photo that day, marking the first time Burgess had appeared on his Instagram.
Since then the couple have posted photos of them catching up after Siddle’s matches and wining and dining.
They’ve also documented their stunning holiday to Mallorca, Paris, Versailles, Greece, Capri, Positano and Sicily.
A month ago, Siddle congratulated Burgess when she posted photos from her university graduation.
The pace bowler split with his wife of five years, Anna Weatherlake, in August 2022.
They were married at a Victorian homestead in 2017 after dating for several years.
At the time, it was reported that Weatherlake had moved on with another man following the split.
Siddle has been open about his past struggles with alcohol and the toll it took on his marriage.
He courageously quit the booze and marked eight years of sobriety in 2020.
The sports star said in his darkest days he would knock back between 25 and 30 drinks.
In an emotional interview on the Ordineroli Speaking podcast in 2020, the fast bowler said of his past partying days: ‘I was partying too hard, and it was getting out of control.
‘All my relationships that were real close to me, I was just in a way lying to them all.’
