Now that we’re finally enjoying some sunny days (and can sit outdoors without shivering), its time to look forward to alfresco dining. For those on a budget preparing for their first barbecue of the season, we’ve found a gas BBQ that, when it comes to performance, is hard to fault – and it’ll set you back less than £80.
The Uniflame 2 burner gas BBQ earned the title of best budget buy in our round-up of the best gas BBQs. At just £71, it undercuts rivals – most of which cost between £200 and £1,000 – by a huge margin. For example, Ninja’s flexflame gas BBQ and outdoor cooking system, which is best for the grill masters wanting optimum cooking power, will set you back £999 (Ao.com).
Plus, the Uniflame is available to shop at Asda for maximum convenience. You can buy online or in-store, though stock in physical stores may vary, so it’s worth checking your local branch if you’d prefer to pick one up in person.
For a decent offering that’ll see you through a summer of burger flipping, the Uniflame could be the way to go. It features two stainless steel burners with space for up to seven portions, and, in our review, we praised its compact size, found it heated up quickly and cooked evenly, and that it was mostly easy to construct.

Uniflame 2 burner gas BBQ
In our review of the best gas barbecues, our tester and home and garden expert Flora Baker, “couldn’t fault” the Uniflame’s performance, considering its price.
“The two burners heat the grill up quickly and provide a nice, even cook despite a few bursts of flame at spitting sausages”, she said. In terms of notable features, its two independently controlled burners can cook 14 burgers at once, and it has a warming rack and side shelves for storing your cooking tools.
As for quality, at this price, compromises need to be made. The “metal parts are admittedly thin and likely to rust without adequate protection”, Flora noted. So bear in mind this will need storing.
Construction took some trial and error, too but, all in all, she found this to be a “cheery little barbecue, at an excellent price point amongst the big guns”, she praised.
