Funding to help bring the arts to the communities

Community groups and arts organisations across Northern Ireland are invited to apply for funding through the Arts Council’s new Small Grants Programme.

The programme, funded by the Department for Communities, offers grants between £500 and £5,000 to support a wide range of projects in all art forms, including music, drama, dance, literature, visual arts, and participatory arts.

The aim of the programme is to increase access to and participation in the arts, helping communities engage with creative activities that can improve wellbeing and strengthen social connections.

Eligibility

The programme is open to a variety of organisations, including

  • community and voluntary organisations
  • registered charities
  • arts organisations
  • local authorities, either on their own or in partnership with other groups

The programme is not open to individuals, sole traders, commercial trading companies or companies that exist to distribute a profit.

Applications must be submitted online by midday on Friday 18 July 2025.

For full details and to apply, visit the Arts Council NI website.
