How to watch the Champions League final

Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the match live on TNT Sports 1, with coverage on the channel from 3pm BST. A live stream will also be available via HBO Max and the HBO app. For the first time since the European Cup rebranded to the Champions League in 1992, the final won’t be free to watch in the UK.

Declan Rice for the Ballon d’Or if Arsenal win Champions League?

“Without doubt, Declan Rice is in the conversation to win the Ballon d’Or. If Arsenal are to win the Champions League, then he’s going to have to be outstanding, and if he was outstanding and Arsenal do win it, then he would thrust himself forward into being spoken about as a Ballon d’Or winner,” Alan Shearer tells Betfair.

“I wouldn’t say as yet he is an all-time Premier League great, but in terms of getting very close, yes, he is. He’s now won the Premier League, which his performances and attitude deserve, and if he was to go on and win the Champions League, then he’s edging himself closer into that bracket.

“He hardly ever misses a game. I mean, he’s a manager’s dream, isn’t he? So yes, he wouldn’t be that far away from the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, and Scholes. If you come back to me in two or three years’ time and say he’s won this, this, this, and this, then, he would, without doubt, play himself into that bracket.”

Arne Slot sacked by Liverpool

In other news that will concern the Champions League next season, Liverpool have sacked manager Arne Slot.

Slot, who won the Premier League title in his first season with the Reds, has been relieved of his position after overseeing a decline in performance in his second season.

Liverpool finished fifth in the league and, though guaranteeing a spot in the Champions League, the performances were not enough to convince the higher-ups that Slot is the man to take them forward.

Piers Morgan claims Arsenal squad could be greatest in football history

“The Arsenal fans were chanting, ‘we are unbearable,’” Piers Morgan tells Sky Sports

“The good news is if we win the Champions League, we’ll upgrade ourselves from unbearable to insufferable.

“The Invincibles were amazing, but the Champions League final, a moment of madness from Lehmann. They had their chance and didn’t take it.

“I do think, this Arsenal team, I’ve said it for a while, our 25-man squad is right up there with the best in the world, if not football history.

“If we win this today, I think this makes us the greatest Arsenal team in history. I never thought a team would beat the Invincibles, but if you win the Premier League and Champions League, you are the top dogs.”

Alan Shearer tips PSG to edge Arsenal in Champions League final

“There is no doubt PSG will be the favourites,” Alan Shearer tells Betfair. “And I think that’s right. I think with their attacking talent, with them being the current holders, with their experience and you put all that together, that’s why they are the favourites.

“But, and it’s a big but, if there’s one team that can stop PSG in the whole of Europe, it’s Arsenal. You look at Arsenal’s defensive stats; they’re the best in Europe by a mile in everything that they’ve done. That makes Arsenal very dangerous.

“I think what also makes them dangerous is the relief of winning the Premier League, and that huge burden off them now. They’ve won it, they’ve had their party, they’ve done whatever. It’s never a free hit in football. But, in terms of Arsenal, they’re not under huge pressure to go and win this, and it would obviously be a massive thing if they can go and win the league and the Champions League, but they’re not under huge pressure to win it. And other than outside of Arsenal, I guess everyone’s expecting PSG to win it, but as I said, and it’s a big but, if there’s one team that can stop PSG because of how good they are defensively in Europe, it’s Arsenal. If Arteta was to win the Premier League and Champions League this season he would be immortalised in the eyes of the Arsenal fan base. To win those two would be an unbelievable achievement. It would be statue time for him, if he does get them over the line.

“I think it’s really tough to predict who wins this game though. I’ll go with the favourites in terms of PSG, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting any money on it because of just the way Arsenal are, and how they could go into it really relaxed, knowing that they’ve won the Premier League. That could be an advantage or a disadvantage, I guess.”

Jack Wilshere highlights the difference between Arsenal and PSG last season

“There’s no doubt PSG are a top team, but Arsenal had their chances,” Wilshere tells TNT Sports.

“The difference was, PSG put them away, they were clinical and they had Donnarumma in goal. He made two or three saves. The game at the Emirates, Arsenal were the better team, he was outstanding.

“They have a good goalkeeper, but he’s not him.”

Martin Keown: “It was their moment, I didn’t do a Piers Morgan”

“It’s been a long time coming, that joy brings a togetherness forever,” Martin Keown tells TNT Sports.

“I was shocked how it made me feel. I was celebrating at a distance, it was their moment by the way, I didn’t do a Piers Morgan.

“Play angry, do something that no other team has achieved, it’s a huge opportunity for these players.”
