Liverpool held Premier League leaders Arsenal to a stalemate on a soaking wet night at the Emirates.

The Gunners dominated the first 45 minutes and pinned Arne Slot’s men back for the majority of the half before the visitors came surging back after the break.

Neither side managed to create clear-cut opportunities and ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Bukayo Saka threatened for the Gunners and Declan Rice kept on running, while Jeremie Frimpong was a constant menace for Liverpool.

Here, Daily Mail Sport’s Isaan Khan provides the player ratings for Arsenal, while Lewis Steele scores the Reds out of 10.

Liverpool and Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw on Thursday night in a game of few chances

ARSENAL

David Raya – 6

Bit too eager in coming out of his area which contributed to first-half mix-up with William Saliba. Mostly a quiet game around his box.

Jurrien Timber – 6.5

Kept getting himself into the box which pulled opposition defenders out of place. Played in a few promising crosses.

William Saliba – 6

Poor first-half pass, wrapped into Raya, nearly resulted in Conor Bradley scoring. Otherwise, was decent on the ball.

Gabriel – 6.5

A typically physical display. Nearly took Florian Wirtz’s shirt off when lifting him up. Played a few floated deliveries forward.

Gabriel Magalhaes (left) was his usual physical presence and nearly too Florian Wirtz's shirt off

Piero Hincapie – 6

Made overlapping runs on the left flank but often stuck with what to do next.

Martin Odegaard – 5.5

A quiet game from the Arsenal talisman. Spent much time in possession, but struggled to make inroads.

Martin Zubimendi – 6.5

Neat on the ball. Distributed it quickly and was snappy in tackles. Difficult to contain.

Declan Rice – 7

Never stopped running, a workhorse across the pitch. Squared up to Virgil van Dijk which got the crowd going.

Bukayo Saka – 7

Arsenal’s most threatening outlet. Caused Milos Kerkez many problems, twisting and turning on that right flank. Was just missing his team-mates utilising his service.

Viktor Gyokeres – 5

Absent showing. A number of crosses in the box went by him. Needed to do better in getting onto end of them.

Leandro Trossard – 6

Lost the ball a couple of times early on and got frustrated, which seeped into his game.

Substitutes –

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6

Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5

Referee: Anthony Taylor: 6.5

LIVERPOOL

Alisson – 7

Dealt with crosses well early doors and had to be careful with a few shots from distance as they zipped off the sodden surface.

Conor Bradley – 7

Had the best chance of the first half when he attempted to chip Raya but hit the bar. So unlucky. Hope his injury is not as bad as it looked.

Ibrahima Konate – 7.5

Had been criticised a lot in the opening months of the season but worth saying he has settled since.

Virgil van Dijk – 7.5

Got his head on everything in the first half and could tell he was up for the challenge of defending the famous Arsenal set-pieces.

Milos Kerkez – 6.5

Struggled against Saka early on but settled from there and was excellent in the second half. Just lacking getting hit crosses on the money.

Ryan Gravenberch – 7

His ingenuity helped Liverpool beat the press several times. Put in a good shift off the ball as always.

Alexis Mac Allister – 6.5

Had to put in a tough defensive shift against Odegaard, Rice and Co but dealt well with the challenge.

Jeremie Frimpong – 7.5

Liverpool’s best outlet and caused some danger on their rare forays forward. Just lacked the final decisive pass but his pace and power was a real weapon.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 7

Everything good came through the Hungarian in Liverpool’s midfield.

Florian Wirtz – 7

Weaved through the Arsenal defence just after the break and nearly won a penalty.

Cody Gakpo – 5.5

Put in a good shift off the ball but was wasteful with the ball too many times.

Gomez (for Bradley 90+5) Subs not used: Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman, Federico Chiesa, Curtis Jones, Andy Robertson, Trey Nyoni, Calvin Ramsay, Rio Ngumoha.
