Over 250 guests including organisations, young people and families see achievements celebrated. The awards are in association with Punchline-Gloucester.com and sponsored by Frazer-Nash Consultancy.
Cheltenham Town Hall was filled with excitement last night (Thursday 5 February) as 29 finalists, nine category winners and 14 youth community changemaker award winners were celebrated at the fifth No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Awards.
Over 250 guests including Cheltenham’s children, young people, and their families along with organisations and sponsors enjoyed a fantastic evening of celebration. The event was hosted by singer and entertainer Camilla Lewington, alongside fellow host Kishi de l’Allebone.
The awards, in association with Punchline-Gloucester.com and sponsored by Frazer-Nash Consultancy, showcased all the exceptional and inspirational work that is making a real difference to Cheltenham’s children, young people, families and communities. Covering a wide range of issues including family services, health and wellbeing, business for change, inclusivity, and future leadership. Four new categories were introduced, focusing on staying safe, empowering parents, inequalities in educational achievement and youth voice. This year’s new categories also included community changemaker awards for young people who have gone above and beyond to create positive change.
Councillor Victoria Atherstone, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: “What an incredibly heartfelt and enjoyable evening of celebration, that brought together so many inspirational people, projects and organisations. Once again, our NCLB Awards recognised the outstanding work taking place across Cheltenham to support local children, young people, and their families. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists!
“A special thanks to our young and adult judges, performers and our hosts Camilla Lewington and Kishi de l’Allebone who did a fantastic job entertaining everyone.
“The awards couldn’t take place without the generous support of businesses made possible by our partner Punchline-Gloucester.com. A huge thank you to all our award sponsors, our headline sponsor Frazer-Nash Consultancy and our venue sponsor The Cheltenham Trust.’’
Belmont School Choir and The Everyman Theatre gave exciting music and drama performances. Guests also enjoyed a lively games room hosted by All About Fun UK.com and got creative in an arts and crafts room provided by Hobbycraft.
Mayor of Cheltenham and NCLB Awards judge, Councillor Dr David Willingham, said: ‘’What an inspirational evening from start to finish. As a shortlisting judge I had the chance to read through the entries and learn more about the fantastic work that has happened in Cheltenham over the past year. My congratulations to all finalists and winners.”
