Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly moved closer to the Manchester United exit door after being used as a substitute in Wednesday’s Europa League final.

The Red Devils missed the chance to end what has been a dire campaign on a high as they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in Bilbao.

Garnacho had started both legs of quarter-finals and semi-finals but was named on the bench for what was his side’s biggest game of the season.

He was brought on in the 71st minute after Brennan Johnson had given Spurs the lead shortly before half-time but failed to help his side find an equaliser.

And ESPN claim that the Argentine and his representatives are far from happy with his limited involvement and how it was handled.

The report adds that he is now increasingly likely to leave the club in the summer and has had offers from other clubs already.

Napoli made an approach for the winger in January and it is hard to see United resisting if a club is to meet their valuation in the region of £60m-70m.

Speaking after Wednesday’s game, Garnacho said: ‘Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don’t know,’ said Garnacho.

‘The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.’

Hi brother Roberto Garnacho also took to Instagram to express his frustration, saying he had been ‘thrown under the bus’.

‘Working as no-one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus,’ wrote Roberto Garnacho.

Asked if he should have brought Garnacho on earlier, Amorim said: ‘How many times have we had this conversation, and it was the opposite? Some players come in, like Mason Mount, against Bilbao and changed the game.

‘So now it is easy to say. Who missed the big opportunity in the first half against Bilbao? Yeah [Garnacho]. Of course, now it is easy for us to talk about a lot of views.’
