Supermarkets offer much more than groceries these days, from clothing to homeware, and even home appliances, all often at bargain prices, too. One of the latest launches to catch our eye is a cordless vacuum cleaner that you can snap up for less than £40 from the famously budget-friendly middle aisle at Aldi this week.

Set to land in Aldi stores from 2nd April, the Ambiano (which is Aldi’s own-brand of appliances) cyclonic stick vacuum cleaner costs a fraction of the price that similar models would set you back from many of the biggest names in vacuuming (Dyson, Shark, we’re looking at you), which can typically cost hundreds of pounds.

What’s more, Aldi’s vacuum boasts LED lights and a motorised brush, which sounds comparable to features you’d find on more expensive models, such as Shark’s cordless stick vacuum cleaner IZ201UK (£678. Amazon.co.uk). So, should you be looking to replace your vacuum cleaner without having to fork out for helpful features, Aldi’s latest offering could be worth a look.

Priced at less than £40, Aldi’s cyclonic stick vacuum cleaner features a HEPA 13 filter to trap allergens, so it could make a good option for those trying to keep these at bay. The vacuum has a motorised brush and three LED lights, which sounds like it a useful feature when it comes to spotting dirt that might otherwise be missed.

It’s billed as being easy to use, as well as reaching every corner, and while we haven’t tested the vacuum, its 180 degree swivel head may come in handy for maneuvering around tricky areas.

It’s a cordless model, so it will need to be recharged, which Aldi says takes around five hours. Once charged, it should deliver around 32 minutes of cleaning when being used in eco mode, which, while less than a lot of models, is long enough to clean most homes. Using the vacuum on full power brings the runtime down to 18 minutes.

Aldi’s cyclonic stick vacuum cleaner will be available in Aldi stores from 2 April.
