Scale your AI healthtech innovation in North America

Innovate UK is inviting UK-based healthtech businesses developing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions to apply for the Global Incubator Programme in partnership with MaRS Discovery District in Toronto.

Up to eight companies will be selected to receive fully funded support to engage with one of the world’s largest innovation hubs for AI and health. The programme runs from September 2025 to March 2026, combining virtual sessions with two in-market visits to Toronto.

Focus areas

The programme targets innovative AI and ML applications in healthcare, including

  • clinical decision-making and treatment
  • predictive medicine
  • patient data analysis
  • diagnostics and digital tools for safer, more effective care

Why Canada

Canada offers a dynamic ecosystem for AI-driven healthcare innovation. MaRS, based in Toronto, is North America’s largest urban innovation hub, connecting startups with hospitals, governments, corporates, and investors. The programme aims to support UK businesses to collaborate with key stakeholders, navigate regulatory pathways, and expand into the North American market.

Benefits of applying

Participants will be able to

  • join a six-month hybrid programme with expert guidance
  • take part in two visits to Toronto (October 2025 and March 2026)
  • connect with health and tech leaders across Canada
  • receive support from Innovate UK and MaRS mentors
  • gain insight into clinical, commercial, and regulatory opportunities

A programme briefing took place on 6 May 2025. You can watch the recording online.

Applications close on Sunday 1 June 2025.
