The cast of Theatre Severn’s forthcoming pantomime Aladdin were unveiled this week, as the venue prepares to bring magic and mayhem to the county this Christmas with their most magical show yet.

The theatre revealed that almost 60% of tickets for Aladdin have been snapped up already, four months before the show opens on Friday 27 November.

The pantomime is written by Telford-born Paul Hendy and produced by the award-winning Evolution Productions, the same team behind more than a decade of five-star, Box Office smash-hit pantomimes at Theatre Severn since 2011. Brad Fitt, Shropshire’s legendary pantomime dame returns to direct the show and star in his 15th season at Theatre Severn in the role of Dame Dolly.

Comedy favourite Tommy J Rollason (ITV Britain’s Got Talent) returns for his fifth year at Theatre Severn in the role of Charlie. Cara Dudgeon (Fairy Bowbells in Dick Whittington, Shrewsbury 2025) also returns as the Spirit of the Ring. They will be joined by Damian Patton as PC World and West End star Mark Oxtoby as Ivan Tochacha. With further casting to be revealed.

David Jack, Theatre Services Manager said:

“Following the huge success of Dick Whittington and his Cat last year, we’re delighted to share another magical pantomime season with you all, and to be working with the fantastic team at Evolution and the hilariously brilliant Brad Fitt for a staggering 15th year!

Aladdin is a family favourite, and we can’t wait to see what magic Evolution has in store. We’re sure it will have everything audiences have come to know and love about the Theatre Severn pantomimes and more. With nearly 60% of tickets snapped up four months ahead of opening, early booking to strongly encouraged. We can’t wait to see you there.”

Cllr Alex Wagner, deputy leader of Shropshire Council and portfolio holder for economic growth said:

“People love a good pantomime and panto season at our theatre is always a huge success year after year.

Our partnership with Evolution goes from strength to strength, and Theatre Severn is a tremendous venue which we are proud to operate and share with our audiences.

It’s a tribute to the professionalism of everyone involved that this year is poised for another great run. I look forward to seeing a successful season with Aladdin.”

Aladdin opens at Theatre Severn on Friday 27 November 2026 and runs until Sunday 3 January 2027. Book your tickets now! Available from the Box Office (01743 281281) or online www.theatresevern.co.uk
